Steps
Set up requests once
- 01
Set the sender
In Settings › Email templates, set the sender name customers recognise, usually your store name, and a reply-to address you read.
- 02
Choose the trigger
In Settings › Request scheduling, choose after fulfillment or after delivery for online orders. Delivery is better when shipping times vary a lot.
- 03
Choose the delay
Pick the number of days after the trigger. Ask once the customer has had time to use the product, not before.
- 04
Add reminders
One reminder a week later is usually enough. A second reminder is optional.
- 05
Limit frequency
For repeat customers, limit requests to once every 30 or 90 days.
- 06
Pick products per order
Choose how many products from one order are requested and which go first.
- 07
Send a sample
Open the review request template and use Send sample email to check it in your own inbox, on desktop and phone.
- 08
Check the requests list
After the next fulfilled orders, open Reviews › Review requests and confirm that requests are scheduled.
Writing the email
Short, specific and honest
- Name the product and show its image so the customer knows what is being asked.
- Ask one thing: a rating and a few words. The star links preselect the rating.
- Do not ask for a positive review, and do not hint that only happy customers should reply.
- If you offer a coupon for reviewing, say so plainly.
