Steps
Import without losing anything
- 01
Export from the old app
Download its full review export as CSV. Keep a copy of the original file.
- 02
Try a small file first
Import a copy with a few rows to check that ratings, dates, names and products come through as expected.
- 03
Choose the source
In Settings › Import reviews, pick the app you are leaving. If it is not listed, use the spreadsheet wizard.
- 04
Map columns and products
In the wizard, map each column, choose how rows identify products (for example by handle or ID), and match any products that were not found.
- 05
Read the import log
Every import is logged. Download the rows that failed, fix them, and import only those rows again.
- 06
Check the storefront
Open a few product pages and compare their review counts with the old app.
Avoid surprises
Things that commonly go wrong
- Products renamed or deleted since the review was written will not match. Match them by hand or leave them out.
- Importing the same file twice can create duplicates. Import the full file once, then only fixed failed rows.
- Imported reviews keep the Imported source, so you can find and check them in the inbox.
