How to install Sofcy Reviews and add it to your theme

Before you start

What you need

• A Shopify store on the Online Store sales channel.
• Permission to edit the theme.
• About 15 minutes.

Steps

Install and place the widgets

1. 01

   Install the app

   Install Sofcy Reviews and open it from Apps in your Shopify admin. The app opens on Home with a setup guide.

2. 02

   Switch on the app embed

   Choose Enable Sofcy on your store. The theme editor opens on App embeds. Switch on Sofcy Reviews and save.

3. 03

   Add the review widget

   Choose Enable Reviews Widget. In the product template, add the Review widget block where you want reviews to appear, then save.

4. 04

   Add the star rating badge

   In the same template, add the Star rating badge under the product title and turn on its link to the widget.

5. 05

   Write a test review

   Open a product page, write a review and submit it. Find it in Reviews, publish it and reload the product page.

6. 06

   Set your publishing rules

   In Settings › Publishing and moderation, decide whether reviews are published automatically and from which star rating.

If something is missing

Quick checks

• No widget on the page: make sure the app embed is on in the live theme, not only in a draft.
• Widget shows but no reviews: check that the review is Published, not Pending.
• Blocks missing from the Add block list: your theme section must support app blocks. Most current themes do.
